Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address typed into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Pleasanton Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the mailbox receives the message and any details included in it, which are used to respond.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. Aggregate review helps keep the site available and shows which reference pages are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
Technical information is used to operate the pages, fix faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from ordinary site activity.
External Portals and Links
The pages point to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search tools. Each outside provider has its own privacy policy and controls what happens after a visitor leaves these pages. That provider’s rules govern information submitted there.
Limited Recipients
Hosting and support providers may process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above where those services operate. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise only as needed to run the site.
Security and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. There are no visitor accounts, so this service does not create a password or resident profile that can be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor may have sent information, contact the operators so it can be reviewed and deleted.
Your California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, can provide rights to know, correct, delete, and limit certain covered data, along with an opt-out of sale or sharing where applicable. The California Delete Act adds a state data-broker deletion process. Because this service keeps little information, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by Pleasanton, Alameda County, or California offices are outside this service’s control; requests for those belong with the custodian.
Policy Updates
Changes to this policy will be posted here. Continuing to use the reference after a revised version appears means the updated policy applies to that use.
